
‘Fr Peter’s Contribution to the Efforts to Protect Humanity’s Common Interests: Personal Reflections’. Lecture on 31 May 2024.
On Friday, 31 May 2024, Judge Prof. David Attard gave a lecture, organised by the Fondazzjoni Peter Serracino Inglott.
The lecture was titled ‘Fr Peter’s Contribution to the Efforts to Protect Humanity’s Common Interests: Personal Reflections’. It touched upon the legal and diplomatic background that has informed landmark judgements such as the advisory opinion issued by ITLOS in May 2024. Judge Attard was a close friend of the late Rev. Prof. Peter Serracino Inglott (1936–2012) and his talk was filled with personal anecdotes and memories of their friendship and collaboration over many years.
The well-attended event took place on Friday 31st May 2024 at 6.30 pm, at the International Maritime Law Institute, University of Malta campus, Msida.
Judge Prof David Attard serves on the International Tribunal of the Law of the Sea.He is currently President of the Chamber of Seabed Disputes and was, until 2023, President of the Chamber for Marine Environment Disputes.
